Jennifer L. Woynar, BSN, RN graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Connecticut State University in May, 2011. Since obtaining her nursing degree, she has worked as a staff nurse on a 20-24 bed, Medical-Surgical Unit. During this time, Jennifer has emerged as a leader of committees including chair of her Unit Nursing Council and Co-Chair of the Unit Council Development Committee. In addition, Jennifer has also been involved in numerous other committees including the Interprofessional Research Council. Jennifer is a respected leader and coworker, her excellence was recognized by her peers and manager who nominated her for the Rising Star New to Nursing Practice Award which she received in May of 2012. Jennifer began her career working as a Patient Care Tech at Middlesex Hospital and was supported by her co-workers as she finished school and transition to working as a Registered Nurse. She is now is continuing her education at UCONN School of Nursing in their BSN-PhD program. Jennifer and is currently participating with AONE Center for Care Innovation and Transformation. Jennifer's area of research interests includes improving outcomes of hospitalized patients who are difficult to discharge related to geriatric- psychiatric issues and patient with dementia.
