 Ruth Bargainer is an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing (TTUHSC SON) in Abilene, Texas. Mrs. Bargainer obtained an MSN in Nursing Education from TTUHSC SON in 2010, subsequently joining the faculty team as an Instructor. In 2013, Ruth Bargainer assumed a leadership role as Regional Program Director of the Traditional Undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at TTUHSC. Faculty peers awarded Mrs. Bargainer the Interprofessional Faculty Development Award (2016), President’s Award for Interprofessional Teamwork (2014), Excellence in Dissemination Award (2013), and Best Classroom Teacher Award (2012).  Ruth Bargainer serves as chair-elect of the TTUHSC-SON Shared Governance Faculty Council and is a member of a task force to promote curricular integration of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Simulation Study recommendations. As champion of the use of simulation in nursing education, Mrs. Bargainer developed and implemented an interprofessional trauma simulation for health professions students and disseminated the research outcomes of the activity at numerous international conferences. Mrs. Bargainer has served as an Ambassador for the National League for Nursing (NLN) and was selected to participate in the 2015 NLN LEAD program at the NLN Leadership Institute in the Center for Transformational Leadership. Mrs. Bargainer is pursuing a PhD in Nursing at The University of Texas Arlington, with a research interest in the influence of simulation on patient outcomes and health professions students' preparation for the delivery of interprofessional collaborative care upon entry to practice.
