herbigCDR Pamela Herbig has served on active duty since 1996 and is currently the Program Director and an Assistant Professor in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. She holds a Master’s degree from University of Pennsylvania and has a post masters from Rush University. She practices at National Naval Medical Center Bethesda in the Post Traumatic Stress/Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic where she specializes in treatment for trauma related disorders with warriors and military healthcare workers. Ms. Herbig has been deployed several times OIF/OEF related and aboard the USNS Comfort for a humanitarian mission. She was a member of the Defense Health Boards’ Family Caregiver Panel, which developed educational curriculum for family members of veterans with traumatic brain injury. She also speaks internationally on the subject of compassion fatigue and provider resilience.
