My name is Monique Jones. I started my nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse and then went back for my Associate Degree in nursing at USC Spartanburg. I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Gardner-Webb University and a Master of Science in nursing administration from Gardner-Webb University as well. Beginning fall 2016, I will start the PhD program at the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing of Mercer University. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honors Society and a recipient of the 2016 Jonas Scholarship. I am currently employed as a nursing faculty member at USC Upstate Mary Black School of Nursing and serve as an advisor for the Student Nursing Association (SNA), as well as a committee member for the faculty search and curriculum committee. In 2014, I received the Daisy Faculty Award for nursing faculty excellence. Prior to teaching in an undergraduate program, my clinical experience is in med-surg, critical care and cardiac. My research interests include obesity, childhood obesity, and chronic disease management, especially related to diabetes for non-English speaking families.
