Areas of Interest: Evidence-based Practice, Nursing Research, Quality & Safety, Program/Strategic Planning, Public & Veteran's health, Policy DNP Capstone: Decreasing Falls in Acute Care Medical Patients in a Veterans Medical Center-falls continue to be a top safety risk despite evidence-based guidelines, falls are a condition similar to pressure ulcers that require individualized risk assessment and targeted interventions. My project is designed to demonstrate the effect of risk category based interventions accompanied by monitoring for adherence, consistency, and evaluation of outcomes.
