Kristina Thomas Dreifuerst, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, CWOCN, CNE

Dr. Dreifuerst received a BA from Luther College and a MS in nursing from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Dr. Dreifuerst conducted a rigorous dissertation study to fulfill the requirements for the PhD at Indiana University during summer 2010. The analysis of the qualitative data from this study is now underway and will be the focus of her development during the NLN Jonas Scholars Program. Her research investigates how nursing students develop their abilities to reason and make sound clinical judgments and the role debriefing plays in this development. She is currently an assistant professor at Indiana University in the School of Nursing and was formerly a nursing instructor in the ADN program at the Madison Area Technical College.
