My name is Elvy G. Barroso, MD, MSc, MPH, MS, RN. I work as the Professional Development Coordinator for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Bureau of Tuberculosis Control. I also work as an adjunct faculty at Borough of Manhattan Community College and my most recent position is a Clinical Instructor at New York University, College of Nursing. I also serve as an external Clinical Preceptor at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing. I received the following degrees: Medical Degree at De La Salle University in Philippines, Master of Science in Occupational Medicine at National University of Singapore in Singapore, Diploma in Epidemiology and Tuberculosis Control at Research Institute of Tuberculosis in Japan, Associate Degree in Nursing at Borough of Manhattan Community College, Baccalaureate (summa cum laude) and Master of Science in Nursing with specialization in Community Public Health and Masters in Public Health with specialization in Community Health Education at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City. I have 30 years of experience in Public Health both internationally and nationally; 23 years of experience in conducting trainings, planning, organizing, and coordinating educational activities for the Bureau of Tuberculosis Control; and six years of experience teaching in Nursing School. I serve as a member of Manhattan Community Board Six.
