Currently a PhD in Nursing student, Eleni received her BSN from Thomas Edison State University, and her MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner Track in 2014 from Rutgers University. She holds multiple national certifications in Family Nurse Practice, Progressive Critical Care nursing, Medical Surgical and is also Board certified in Gerontology. She has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2014 structuring her career in clinical excellence, pursuing and sharing of knowledge, plus mentoring and volunteerism. Has extensive experience in acute care such as Neurology, Oncology, Orthopedic, Pulmonary and Acute Rehab. She is an active member of ANA, AANP, ANCC and NJSNA . She enjoys nurturing new nurses and has taught multiple classes and seminars in neurology, clinical research, respiratory conditions, hospice and palliative care at MMC as well as Obesity. Currently, she is the Metabolic Nurse Practitioner at the Metatbolic and Bariatric Center, Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey . She also teaches in BSN program at Caldwell University and MSN programs at Walden University as adjunct faculty. In 2013 she was honored with the award of Nurse of the Year as the Rising Star in Neuroscience at Neuroscience symposium. The s of interest in research are Obesity, Preventative Medicine, Exercise, Protein metabolism/Amino Acids, Energy Metabolism. Cancer Prevention, Anabolic Resistance, Lipid disorders, LVAD patients, cardiac transplant candidates, Short bowel syndrome, Muscle metabolism in type 2 diabetes, Hypoparathyroidism, Metabolic Syndrome, Thyroid disorders, Medical Nutrition in the critically ill, Aging, Physical functioning and sarcopenia in older adults, Eating disorders, Vitamins, Bariatric Surgery
