Bridget is excited to begin pursuit of her PhD at Yale School of Nursing. Her research interests are in the realm of maternal child health and her doctoral research will be focused on health disparities in regard to access to Vaginal Birth after Cesearean section (VBAC). Bridget earned her BSN from The Johns Hopkins Universty School of Nursing and her MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner from The University of California Los Angeles. She completed the Underserved Populations subspecialty at UCLA. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. She has also trained as a doula and provided birth support to vulnerable women and their families in Baltimore, MD. Prior to embarking on her doctoral studies, Bridget worked with underserved families as an FNP at federally qualified health centers in Boston and Fall River, Massachusetts and Ottawa, Canada. She also taught prenatal and infant care classes and acted as the main breastfeeding resource person within her family practice teams.
