Annemarie Dowling-Castronovo, AAS, BS, MA

Annemarie Dowling-Castronovo received her undergraduate nursing education at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York and her master’s degree from New York University. A nurse since 1989, she has practiced as a staff nurse and a gerontologic nurse practitioner in settings such as cardiothoracic acute care, long-term care, ambulatory care, home care, and a continence program. She had academic appointments at New York University and The College of Staten Island. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the Evelyn L. Spiro School of Nursing, Wagner College. She is responsible for three undergraduate nursing courses: health assessment, medical–surgical nursing, and community nursing; each of which she integrates best nursing practices for the care of older adults. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the College of Nursing, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Her dissertation is a naturalistic inquiry of new-onset urinary incontinence in the hospitalized older adult population.
