Allyson Favuzza is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at The Pennsylvania State University. She practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner at The Wright Center for Primary Care and is the sole provider of the school-based health center within the Scranton School District. Allyson began her nursing career as a registered nurse in pediatrics after receiving an Associate of Science degree in nursing from Penn State. While working in a prescribed pediatric extended care center (PPECC), Allyson went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Penn State. Her extensive experience working with medically fragile children in a PPECC sparked an interest in primary care. This interest became a passion as she went on to complete her Master of Science degree in nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Penn State. Throughout her doctoral program, Allyson plans to focus her research on the effect of school-based health centers on immunization rates among early adolescents.
