University of South Florida

I am currently enrolled at the University of South Florida College of Nursing's BSN-PhD program. My current program of research is focused in the area of mental health, and physical activity in veterans diagnosed with cancer. I am also interested in research pertaining to suicide prevention in veterans diagnosed with cancer. My clinical practice interests include symptom management in veterans with cancer, as well as suicide prevention in veterans. I recently graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida. I have been working as a research assistant for Dr. Visovsky since January 2014, and have recently started working as a Registered Nurse with Tampa General Hospital on the primary care floor. In 2013, I was on the undergraduate curriculum task force as the faculty prepared a revision of the curriculum. I also participated as a member of the Create Scholars Research Group, where I lead the statistical analysis portion, and presented a research poster at the Undergraduate Research and Arts Colloquium. I am the first author on an in press publication on the topic of diabetic peripheral neuropathy prevention, and a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing honors society.
