Rebecca Carron Jonas Scholar III AlumniRebecca Carron completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Texas Christian University and her Master of Science (Nursing) degree at the University of Wyoming. She completed her PhD at the College of Nursing at the University of Colorado Denver. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner and practices at the Dermatology and Laser Center of Fort Collins, CO with clinics in Wyoming and Colorado.

Dr. Carron is active in state and national nursing organizations. She is currently President of District 12 of the Wyoming Nurses Association. In addition, she is on the Governance Committee for the Alpha Pi (University of Wyoming) chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International. Dr. Carron received the Wyoming Nurses Association District 12 Nurse of the Year Award. She has also received several academic awards in the College of Nursing at the University of Colorado Denver.

Dr. Carron’s dermatology practice inspired her interest in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) as dermatology is an entry point in the health care system for women seeking answers to their perplexing symptoms. Dr. Carron’s dissertation is focused on quality of life issues in women with PCOS as well as raising public awareness of this hidden and frequently unrecognized endocrine disorder in women. Specifically, the effects of depressive and anxiety symptoms, perceived stress, body mass index.
