Pamela Billings - Jonas III Veterans Healthcare Scholar AlumniPamela Billings is a retired Commander in the United States Navy Nurse Corps. Mrs. Billings graduated from Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, Louisville, Kentucky and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis and Master's Degree in Nursing Administration from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She received her Post-masters training as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Mississippi in Jackson, MS. She is a current doctoral (DNP) student at the University of Alabama.

Mrs. Billings nursing career includes over 30 years of progressively complex clinical and administrative assignments. She has worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 19 years. She is a career VA nurse and is currently responsible for the Decision Support Program (a program that provides data and analysis services) for VISN 9, associated facilities and outpatient clinics. Prior to joining VISN 9, Mrs. Billings served as the Chief of Emergency medicine at the Louisville VAMC, serving on the national Emergency Medicine Field Advisory Steering group. Mrs. Billings is a graduate of the VHA Healthcare Leadership Institute (HCLI) and has completed the Executive Career Field Training.

Prior nursing roles include DSS Clinical Coordinator (the Veterans Health administration Managerial Cost Accounting System) and Chief Medical Officer/Clinic Manager of the Panama City Community Based Outpatient Clinic. Prior to joining the VA, Mrs. Billings served in the National Rural Health Corps as a Family Nurse Practitioner in North Vernon, Indiana and prior to that has worked in the operating room, Emergency Department and Level 1 trauma.
