Jonas III Veterans Healthcare Scholar Alumni - MAJ Cheryl CreamerMAJ Cheryl Creamer received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University. She was commissioned in the US Navy in 1992 and the US Army in 2003. She earned a Masters of Arts degree from Regent University in 2001 and a Master of Science Degree with an emphasis in Emergency, Trauma and Critical Care from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. MAJ Creamer completed her DNP at Vanderbilt University and is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and certified Acute and Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist.

MAJ Creamer is on active duty and is currently deployed, serving in the Kuwait Theater of Operations as a research investigator. She is part of the All Army Study: Army STARRS Research Team, collecting research data for the largest behavioral health risk and resiliency study ever conducted in the military. MAJ Creamer’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, NATO Medal, United Nations Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Global War on Terrorism Service and Expeditionary Medals.

MAJ Creamer is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International-Pi Chapter, Phi Kappa Phi, the American Nurses Association, the Army Nurse Corps Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Emergency Nurses Association. MAJ Creamer’s research focus is to develop a comprehensive clinical practice guideline that provides chronic pain management guidance with specific clinical considerations for the TBI/PTSD combat veteran.
