Loretta Bilder, PhD

Loretta Bilder received her PhD in nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  She is employed as an assistant professor of nursing at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.  Loretta is nationally certified as a women’s health nurse practitioner, and volunteers her time to care for medically underserved women of all ages.  Her teaching interests include maternal-child nursing, leadership, and health assessment.  Loretta completed a Bachelors of Science degree from Marywood University and a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati.  She is a member of the National League for Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International.  She is also a member of the Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners of Northeast Pennsylvania, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  In Loretta’s current academic research a concurrent mixed methods design will be used to examine the relationship between empowerment and leadership readiness among full-time nursing faculty.
