Kayoll Galbraith

Kayoll Galbraith, RN, BSN Kayoll Galbraith obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Africana Studies degree in 2011 from The State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton. Upon graduation, Ms. Galbraith entered The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing as a BSN to PhD student and received the prestigious NRSA/NINR National Service Pre-doctoral Training Award for Interventions for Preventing and Managing Chronic Illness. Her research focuses on cervical cancer prevention and understanding ways cultural influences can be used to start healthy decision making in Black adolescent girls that will translate into healthy lifestyles in adulthood. Most recently, Ms. Galbraith participated on a five-person panel on HPV at the 141st American Public Health Association Annual Meeting in Boston, MA and has also conducted a poster presentation at the Annual Minority Health Conference in Chapel Hill, NC. With the goal of becoming an academic nurse scientist, Ms. Galbraith aims to develop a body of research that enhances the nursing profession and that empowers low-income adolescents and families of color to lead healthy lifestyles and make good health decisions regarding sexual health and disease prevention.
