Jeri BuckleyJeri Buckley chose nursing as her second career and received her RN, BSN from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She also received academic honors throughout her undergraduate career while accepting and chairing the position of 2nd Vice-President of the Michigan Student Nurses Association; President of Oakland University’s Student Nurses Association; Vice-President of the Charter Student Alumni Organization and she was invited to the Deans Circle for all semesters attended. She was awarded membership in Sigma Theta Tau in 2003 and continues to remain a current member. Ms. Buckley is completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Loyola New Orleans. She currently co-chairs the Research Practice Council at Naples Community Hospital and holds a student-nurse membership with AANP. She is currently employed by Naples Community Hospital in the surgical intensive care unit as a registered nurse. Ms. Buckley’s career goals are to shape her education and practice with research-based evidence and transition her strong, clinical knowledge to the teaching forum. Her area of interest lies in translating this research to benefit clients by helping with medication compliancy. She also has a strong interest in health policy and the impact advance-directive planning has on end-of-life care.
