Dennis Flores - Jonas Scholar III AlumniDennis Flores earned his MS in Public Health Nursing Leadership at Emory University where he was a Robert Woodruff Clinical Fellow. He graduated from the BSN program at Kennesaw State University and also majored in Psychology and Sociology at the University of the Philippines (Baguio). He is the Immediate Past President of the Metro Atlanta chapter of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) and is nationally-certified in HIV/AIDS nursing. Mr. Flores has participated in HIV/AIDS nursing care in and out of the country, including Haiti, Jamaica and South Africa. He is a national spokesman for the GREATER Than AIDS Campaign that is sponsored by the Kaiser Family Foundation and supported by the Black AIDS Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He has worked with several religious organizations to address HIV-related stigma and discrimination within faith communities. Mr. Flores is a recent inductee into the American Association of Colleges of Nursing's (AACN) Policy Academy. His research interests center on risk reduction interventions for young men who have sex with men.
