Beverly Belton

Beverly BeltonBeverly Belton earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science in Nursing, Management, Policy and Leadership from Yale University. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Nurse Executive practice and is also a certified Six Sigma Greenbelt. She has over 20 years of experience as a clinician and has worked in a variety of settings across the healthcare continuum. She has been a Clinical Instructor in the Graduate Entry Pre-Specialty in Nursing Program (GEPN) at Yale University, lending her clinical expertise to multiple community service projects aimed at improving the overall health of the community in which she resides. She has also served as an officer in the United States Army Nurse Corps and held multiple management and leadership positions in the civilian sector.

Ms. Belton has a demonstrated capacity to lead change with a focus on patient safety, efficient transitions in care, employee satisfaction and regulatory compliance. Most recently, she served as the Program Manager, Healthcare Reform Projects at the Yale New Haven Health System, Center for Healthcare Solutions. In that role she served as a consultant on an array of management and clinical topics while leading multidisciplinary teams in the execution of a variety of federally-funded, multi-site projects focused on; the prevention of healthcare-associated infections, patient safety, care transitions and emergency preparedness.

Ms. Belton is currently a first year PhD in nursing student at Yale University. Her research interests focus on the intersection of nursing, health policies and disparate health among vulnerable populations. She is the health policy liaison for the Southern Connecticut Black Nurses Association.
