Ben InventorBen Inventor is a doctoral student at Rush University College of Nursing (RCON) pursuing his PhD. His research interest is managing behavioral symptoms of persons with dementia in long-term care settings. He currently works in collaboration with a geropsychiatrist to manage patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms in nursing homes.

Mr. Inventor graduated from RCON with a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner degree. After graduation, he maintained an active practice as a nurse practitioner, became an adjunct clinical instructor and preceptor for RCON nursing students. His experience in this professional environment inspired Mr. Inventor to further advance his career and influence nursing practice through research. Mr. Inventor was admitted to RCON PhD program and received the John A. Hartford Foundation, Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity pre-doctoral scholarship grant; and a Fellowship from Grantmakers in Aging. For his research, Mr. Inventor will examine how activities and the environment affect behavioral symptoms in persons with dementia in nursing homes.
