Annette Asper Hearst-Jonas II Scholar (2012-2014)Annette Asper received her BSN from Lewis Clark State College (LCSC) in Lewiston, Idaho, where she served as the nursing representative to the LCSC Associated Students. She completed certification in medical surgical nursing and earned her MSN (FNP) from Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington and her DNP in nursing from Frontier Nursing University. After receiving FNP certification, she accepted a full-time position at Orthopedic Associated of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where she works in a primary care role with a multidisciplinary team in providing community-based care for musculo-skeletal diseases. Ms. Asper is pursuing her doctoral degree from Frontier University. The purpose of her proposed doctoral capstone project is to develop curricula and a residency practice for family nurse practitioners, focusing on community-based, primary care management of musculoskeletal diseases. The projected impacts of this capstone are to increase availability of high quality community-based care, increase quality of life and decrease the burden of health care costs for persons with musculo-skeletal diseases.
