Amanda Jensen Hearst-Jonas II Scholar (2012-2014)Amanda Halverson completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. She obtained a nursing degree in the accelerated BSN track at Concordia College. Dr. Halverson is a Nursing Instructor at North Dakota State University, and previously worked as a Registered Nurse in the Sanford Health Pediatric Intensive Care unit, where she was involved in multiple practice improvement efforts in the Sanford organization, including pediatric quality and safety as well as professional practice councils. Dr. Halverson is passionate about the education of future nurses, and previously worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at North Dakota State University and Clinical Assistant for the Concordia College Nursing Department. Her overall career goal is to combine clinical practice as a primary care provider and undergraduate and advance practice nursing education. While Dr. Halverson has a wide variety of research interests, she is particularly drawn towards aspects of Family-Centered Care, Nurse Practitioner as Educator, and Client Satisfaction Regarding Care Provided by Nurse Practitioners.
