Amanda Green

Amanda C. GreenAmanda C. Green is currently a doctoral student at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Oakland University and was a member of the Student Nurses Association.

She moved to Chicago to work at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse on a general medicine floor while taking graduate coursework on urban studies at Moody Theological Institute. Deciding to pursue higher nursing education, she moved to Boston College’s Clinical Nurse Specialist program in Community Health. During this time she worked at Upham’s Corner Health Center as a triage nurse in urgent care. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing and is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Public Health Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Ms. Green is currently in University of Massachusetts Boston’s PhD Program in Nursing with a Population Health focus. Her interests are in chronic disease management of school-aged children in the urban school setting. She is a research assistant working with Dr. Laura Hayman and Dr. Mary Cooley on a health promotion in lung cancer patients and their families. Her focus is chronic disease management of school-aged children in the urban school setting.
