Darlene Curley, MS, RN
Executive Director
Darlene Curley joined the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence as Executive Director in 2009. She brings to the position extensive experience as a health policy leader, former legislator and nurse.

Ms. Curley, who also currently heads a health policy consulting practice and most recently served two terms in the Maine House of Representatives, established herself as one of the Legislature’s foremost experts on health policy issues. She was appointed to the Health Committee of the national Council of State Legislatures, where she worked with legislators nationwide to lower health care costs, decrease the price of prescription drugs and improve access to high quality health care. She was also appointed to the State’s Long-term Care Oversight Committee, which oversees programs and policies of the Department of Human Services as they pertain to the long-term care of adults with disabilities and the elderly.

Prior to her election to the House of Representatives, Ms. Curley was founder and CEO of Community Homecare, Inc., a home health care and medical staffing business. She has served on the faculty of the University of Southern Maine and was Director for Strategic Planning for Healthsouth Corporation/Advantage Health, one of the largest health care companies in the United States. She has also provided strategic consulting services to healthcare systems, educational institutions, government agencies and associations, including Mercy Health System and the State of Maine Department of Labor.

Ms. Curley holds bachelor’s degrees in nursing and health education from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and the University of Maine, respectively. She earned her master’s degree in community health administration from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.

Regine Dunn, MPA
Grant Program Manager
As Grant Program Manager for the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence, Ms. Dunn oversees several grant programs designed to advance professional nursing.

Prior to joining the Jonas Center in 2008, Ms. Dunn held several community development positions in the nonprofit sector, including Program Coordinator for the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Career Program, where she managed three career development programs. She has also held positions with Wildcat Service Corporation and Community Care Development, Inc., where she served families on public assistance and at-risk youth. She began her career in philanthropy as a graduate intern with the William Randolph Hearst Foundation.

Ms. Dunn received her master’s in public administration from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and her bachelor’s degree in public administration from St. John’s University. She is a member of Philanthropy New York’s Initiative to Diversify Philanthropy.

Amy Wald
Administrative Coordinator
Amy Wald is a New York City transplant from California with a background in event planning and marketing. She graduated from the CUNY Graduate Center program in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Culture. She currently volunteers at the Jewish Board of Family and Children Services gaining experience in social work. Amy works with adult patients helping to decrease isolation and increase participation in social activities.
