Jonas Center Spotlight
Barbara and Donald Jonas Presented "The Partners in Excellence Award"
On Monday morning, October 24th, the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence sponsored a breakfast in Washington, DC for over 500 deans from nursing schools across the country. Mr. Jonas, Darlene Curley, and Amy Warren from the Jonas Center attended the highly anticipated Nursing event. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) graciously showed the Jonas Center’s video program (see below), and shortly afterwards Mr. & Mrs. Jonas were given a very special recognition.
Barbara and Donald Jonas were presented with “The Partners in Excellence Award” in recognition of their efforts to promote nursing science and practice excellence. This honor is presented to foundations, organizations, businesses, or other benefactors that have made significant nursing contributions to advancing professional nursing education and/or research. Award recipients demonstrate a spirit of collaboration by working closely with AACN on initiatives that strengthen our nation’s educational system, enhance patient care, advance research, and/or meet the needs of member schools.
The “Partners in Excellence Award” was given to Barbara and Donald Jonas specifically because of their innovative and visionary work to address the critical need for nurse educators prepared at a doctoral level.
Mr. Jonas was completely surprised and thrilled to accept this award on behalf of the philanthropic work that Mrs. Jonas and himself do for our education system.
We left the conference invigorated about our support for nursing education and ready to start work on our next program endeavors!
