Mission
The mission of the Jonas Center for Nursing Excellence is to advance professional nursing through programs that promote nurse recruitment and retention, increase racial and ethnic diversity among the nursing workforce, advance innovative practice models and improve practice environments.

Strategies

• Provides leadership on nursing workforce issues to improve the public's health in New York City and beyond
  
  
• Employs a grant-making strategy that supports partnerships between academe and practice
  
  
• Expands grant-making capacity by engaging donors and philanthropic organizations
  
  
• Fosters productive collaboration among nursing leaders, healthcare professionals, business, interest groups and policy-makers
